Meet Angelina

I'm Angelina Raheja, a Canadian citizen, devoted mother, entrepreneur, and proud member of our community. I hold a Master's degree in Business Administration and bring diverse professional experience in real estate, corporate training, and business operations.

Throughout my career, I have brought energy, dedication, creativity, and a strong attention to detail to everything I take on.

As a proud member of the community, I have participated and raised my voice through petitions and deputations. Together we can make a difference!

I'm running for Ward 1 Councillor to continue doing exactly that — listening, speaking up for residents, asking for answers, and demanding transparency and accountability for every hard-earned tax dollar.

If elected by Ward 1, I understand that a Councillor's contribution to decisions affects the entire Township. I will work to protect Ward 1's rural beauty, open spaces, and quality of life, while protecting The Oak Ridges Moraine Policy.

I believe development should benefit the community as a whole — respecting established rural neighbourhoods, responsibly integrating new communities, and carefully considering the long-term financial, infrastructure, and quality-of-life impacts of the decisions Council makes.

"Serving on Council means being accessible, prepared, informed, and accountable — and making sure residents have a meaningful voice in the decisions that affect their homes, families, and community."
1

Fairness for Rural Residents

a) Advocate for residents who remain on private water (well) and wastewater (septic) systems to have a voice in decisions that affect them, and to ensure they are not unfairly charged for municipal services they do not receive.

b) Protect Ward 1's beauty, open spaces and quality of life while following Oak Ridges Moraine's Policy.

2

Colgan — Transparency, Accountability & Fairness

Protect Colgan residents from unfair costs — demand a full, transparent review of Colgan's water and wastewater accounts, contracts, debts, and holding-tank charges if any, including costs covered by the developer but billed to residents. ensure no new resident is burdened with costs or debts they did not create or benefit from.

3

Fairness & Prosperity for the Entire Township

All development in any part of the township should be required to strictly follow the policies, procedures, by-laws & acts put in place by the province & township. It is only when these are followed that the township can prosper.

Always working for you

Present at council, present in the community — from Kite Fest to the Colgan accounts.

My contribution to our community

The unglamorous work of showing up.

I'm grateful for the trust residents have placed in me to speak up, ask questions, and raise the issues that affect us all.

  • From water bills and property taxes to advocating for better infrastructure and connections for Colgan, I've represented our concerns before Council.

  • Worked on community petitions and made a formal deputation to Council to get to the bottom of the Colgan accounts.

  • Helped organize community events, including Kite Fest, and advocated on behalf of every resident of the township — not just one ward.

  • Working on advocating for a Medical Clinic in the neighbourhood, so residents don't have to travel far for care.

"I'm running for Ward 1 Councillor to keep doing the work: listening, asking the tough questions, standing up for residents, and demanding accountability for every tax dollar."
Key priorities & advocacy

Six things I'll keep pushing for at the council table.

Every priority below comes from conversations on doorsteps and at Council — not a template. Select one to see where Angelina stands.

Responsible Growth & Better Planning

  • Bring a fresh, informed voice to Council - Encourage Council to use currents facts, studies, and data to support sound, responsible decisions, fair developer negotiations, and vote for solutions that protect both current and future residents.
  • Learn from past decisions to avoid repeating costly mistakes for our community.
  • Pair every stage of growth with the infrastructure to support it: roads, drainage, water and wastewater.
  • Protect Ward 1's beauty, open spaces and quality of life while following Oak Ridges Moraine's Policy.
  • Any development in the township should benefit the whole community Respecting established neighbourhoods, considering long-term financial and community impacts.

Water & Wastewater Affordability

  • Press for a full transparent review of water and wastewater costs and rates.
  • Explore collaborating with neighbouring municipalities and in-house operations to lower operating costs.
  • Give a voice to rural residents on private wells and septic systems who don't receive these services.
  • Demand a full transparent review of the Colgan water and wastewater accounts, contracts and debts.
  • Push for clear explanations of how rates are calculated and how the money is spend.

Transparency & Open Communication

  • Keep residents informed with regular, easy-to-understand updates from Council.
  • Be present, prepared and accountable — bring residents' concerns forward and follow through.
  • Advocate for in-camera meetings, especially those on development, to be recorded.
  • Publish clear updates ahead of major decisions so residents aren't caught off guard by costs or changes.
  • Make agendas, minutes and staff reports easier to find and understand online.

Families, Seniors & Local Business

  • Build a community that works for families, with safe and welcoming spaces for every generation.
  • Listen to and respect the needs, concerns and contributions of our seniors and longtime residents.
  • Champion local businesses and help create the conditions for local entrepreneurs to grow and succeed.
  • Support programs and gathering spaces that serve youth, newcomers and multigenerational households.
  • Work with local businesses and the Chamber of Commerce to cut red tape and support responsible growth.

Roads, Safety & Community Well‑Being

  • Prioritize safe, reliable roads and infrastructure — with planning that serves both today's residents and future growth.
  • Improve neighbourhood safety and connectivity by addressing speeding, traffic concerns, drainage and development-related issues.
  • Support a safer community for everyone — working with the appropriate agencies to strengthen prevention and awareness of crime.

Fairness for Rural Residents

  • Fair & affordable water & waste rates — press for a full review of water and wastewater costs and explore lower-cost options.
  • Explore collaborating with other municipalities to share services and reduce costs.
  • Explore in-house operations — outsourced contracts may be the bigger expense contributing to water & wastewater operating costs.
